Licensing References: Thailand
Architecture as a profession is regulated by the Thai Ministry of Interior. Its governing body is the Architect Council of Thailand (ACT), which works to not only promote the profession, but also to enforce the ministerial rules by which the profession operates. It is worth noting that the Thai regulates four different fields within the same “architect” umbrella: architecture, interior architecture and interior decoration, landscape architecture, and urban design. In terms of the path to licensure, the process is quite similar to the United States: the three tracks are divided into Education, Experience, and Examination. (Aruninta, 2007)
