Licensing References: Portugal

The Ordem dos Arquitectos (OA) regulates and represents the professional practice of architecture in Portugal. In order to become registered professionals, one must have an academic credential in architecture, and go through an internship component to gain practical experience. The registration with the Ordem is valid in the entire country, and registered members of other EU countries are able to effectively obtain Portuguese registration by showing proof of an up-to-date license in the home country, or proof of minimum of 2 years of experience as an architect within the last decade.
